1860 model Mansfield & Lamb cav. sabre. Dated 1864. Original leather grip is 99% complete and with all wire as well. Thumbnail piece of leather missing near pommel. The brass guard and pommel cap have a great color to the brass with a rich golden patina. The sword is accompanied by the nice original scabbard that is complete. Blade is way way above average from what you find today. Much original luster and cross brushing at ricasso. One small are of black discoloration but the rest makes up for it. Strong markings on blade ,with inspector stamp on pommel and drag of scabbard. Two small dings on scabbard but not distracting. Overall on a 1-10 I would say a strong 7. Hard to find in this condition at todays shows.
